VANUATU MISSES FOOTBALL SEMIS IN YOG

VANUATU missed out on a place in the semi-finals of the Football Competition, by going down to Haiti, 2-1 in their group clash...after leading 1-0. Haiti had lost to Bolivia by 9-0 and the South Americans had beaten VANUATU 2-0. This gave Two-time Happiest Place in the World the golden opportunity for either a draw or win to face Singapore in the finals. It was through Petch Ham in the 8th minute of second half that VANUATU marked their first goal of the YOG from a Santino Mermer-cross. The Carribean Islanders scored two goals through Daniel Gedeone and Jean Bonhomme within the last 13minutes of the game to deny the Pacific Islanders a place in the semis.
